Value Drawing

Value Drawing

1. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing.
First I had to draw all the different shades. Then I took the shades and drew them on the paper.
After that Shaded it all in.
2. Explain how you found the different values in the portrait?
I trased over the picture with trasing paper. Any values I saw I drew in. I also put it up on a window
to see all the lighter values.

3.  Did you achieve a full range of the different values within your portrait?  How?
I looked at the different shades i outlined then i drawed them in. I had a piece of paper with all the values.
In the end all the shades stood out.

4. Describe your craftsmanship.  Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly?
Yes the pitcure looks very nice in my eyes. I used different pressures to make the different values.
That gave it the nice 3D look.

5. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them.
The only problem was trying to get all the values in. Also make the values stand out against each other.
The big problem was getting the face features to stand out.

Tylers art

Describe your overall thoughts on the final piece.

It looks very nice and the shading gives it that 3D look. The oil pastels shade very well and make it look like there is light coming from the other direction.

How successful do you feel this piece is and why?

I feel like it is going to be successful and the piece will stand out.

What worked about this project? What didn’t work?

The shading came out very nice and the colors look good together.
On the other hand the back round looks werid though
If you were to do this project over again, what changes would you consider making?

The backround looks wired and the two colors look wired

What did you learn from this piece?

That shading makes stuff look very nice and many different colors look well togther.

What was the most difficult part about completing this piece and why?
Finding wich colors work and wich don't.
